Midas

Personally, I love this painting. I think that I like it because of the idea that I had behind it, to be honest.
As I've mentioned in previous posts, I've always kind of been really into myths and legends. Midas was the king who wished that all he touched would turn to gold and I always sort of had an interest in that story. The golden touch could seem, at first, kind of empowering because doesn't the world run on money and wealth? In the end it leads him to nothing, though. It owns him and he no longer owns it. I tried to portray that in this painting.
I used acrylic paints and Prismacolor markers for detailing and sharpening my lines.
